2025 Cardinal District Camporee
Join us this year as we become Space Scouts! Activities will be centered around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects related to space, as well as traditional scouting activities.
Canoe Safety and Handling Courses: Flat-Water Basics
Learn basic paddling skills, group planning for flat water activities, and methodologies to teach youth the fundamentals of canoeing from the Council’s aquatics experts.
Canoe Safety and Handling Courses: Whitewater Basics
Practical training and experience in Whitewater Merit Badge skills on the Cape Fear and/or Haw Rivers. Learn SAFETY, trip planning, how to maneuver Class I and II rapids, manage a group on running water and rescue techniques.
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills Training (IOLS)
IOLS will be offered during the District Camporee on April 13 at Camp Durant.
Town of Cary Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge Event
The Town of Cary is hosting a two-day Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge experience for scouts interested in earning this Eagle-required merit badge. This event will occur after school on Thursday, September 28, 2023, and during the day on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Eagle Coach Training: March 30
Location: Sunrise UMC in Holly Springs. Any Troop’s Eagle Scout coach who has not received training should plan to attend.

We’re excited to take Scouts back in time to experience the western frontier with cooking and blacksmithing demonstrations, games, crafts, competitions and plenty of shooting sports activities for all ages.
Eagle Application Turn In Procedures Beginning 1 June
The Council Office and Scout Shop will open beginning on 1 June under the Governor’s Phase 2 requirements.
Eagle Boards of Review beginning August 2020
Effective in August the Eagle Boards will return to Garner UMC.
